Transitioning to "Spring"

Bella Maas

As our wonderful model Wendy beautifully demonstrates, Bella Maas is ready for spring!

Mind you, trying to experience spring to its fullest isn’t the easiest thing to do when you live in Alberta. Our season usually ends before it can really begin and lately it’s been testing us with a string of promising sunny weather, followed by more bouts of snow and chilly prairie wind. But regardless of our situated climate we still deserve to get excited about spring. Here’s a few looks and tips we created to help you update your closet starting now in early March.

Connecting the Dots

Top: Michael Kors Polka Dot Blouse - $135 | Jeans: Joe's Kennide Icon - $291 | Shoes: Emu Open Toe Bootie in Black - $182 | Olivia Burton Applied Wing Watch $219 | Melanie Auld Circle Drop Necklace $125

We love navy, and so should you. Not only is it the perfect colour to pair with your bright whites and precious pastels, but it’s a wonderful and subtle transition into a spring mindset. This gorgeous polka-dot Michael Kors blouse is a great piece on its own for indoor work, or it can be layered with a blazer or denim jacket for those rare warmer days.

Don’t forget to work some new accessories into the mix! This new rose gold Olivia Burton applied wing watch is sure to catch a few glances and boost your spring optimism. Not ready for sandals? Try these suede/leather combo open toe booties; not quite a sandal, not quite a boot. Always keep it grounded with a great pair of denim and you are well on your way to a better #spring.

Always check your weather app before you leave the house. Your new optimism might have you convinced it’s a denim jacket day, but in reality you’re going to freeze your butt off.
— Your Inner Conscience

Polished Pastels

BB Dakota Light Pink Trench $211 | Joe's Distressed Jean $304 | Louenhide Baby Bermuda in Champagne $95 | Emu Suede Nude Heels $172 | Melanie Auld Best Friend Necklace $139

Your new peppy spring jacket is here at Bella Maas and we want you to know it’s as versatile and as beautiful as you are ;). This BB Dakota trench is the perfect way to work that wonderful pastel pink colour into any outfit. And if you are daring enough to wear it when the temperature inevitably drops below zero, the belted nature of the jacket leaves a bit of room for some lighter layering.

Showing off your shoulders has never been easier this spring thanks to the cold shoulder trend. Don’t worry, this Michael Stars white ribbed tee is so flattering and simple to wear that you won’t have any regrets wearing white AND showing some skin. Pairing one of our favourite criss-cross bralettes underneath just adds that little bit of edge we sometimes need to pick up our spirits. Kicking things up further with these excellently distressed lightwash Joe’s is just another simple way to make any outfit switch from winter to spring.

So we can’t exactly put away our winter clothes yet, but we can start making a few small changes here and there to adjust our outlook and look great while doing it.

A very special thanks to Wendy from Tickled Floral in Sherwood Park for being our model this week! Here is a little bit more about her and her wonderful floral boutique:

"When I was 4 years old my mother and aunt started up a flower shop in my
aunt's basement.  I grew up in that shop, playing with the scrapped leaves
and petals and learning how to make the perfect ribbon bow. After working in the flower business throughout high school I graduated from University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. And now here I am, apparently unable to
escape my love of flowers. Tickled Floral began in our Sherwood Park home in
2011 and we moved to our current retail location on Broadway Boulevard in
September of 2015.  Our primary specialty is event florals and décor, but we
also do arrangements for everyday occasions.

I love flowers and gifts.  I love the challenge of taking the vision in your
head and making it a reality.  I'm passionate about what I do and it shows
through my dedication to quality and service.  There's no event too small or
too big for our team to handle."
