The cold Edmonton weather is here and with that comes the tons of heavy layers to stay warm. Our fall weather can be ruthless and force you to pack away those summer clothes for a few months. We’re going to argue that just because it’s chilly out, it does not mean that you need to sacrifice certain items of clothing. You must think we’re crazy, I mean who wants to wear a halter-top when it’s cold out? Well, we’re going to give you some tricks with a twist of fall fashion inspiration to wearing items you might be saving for those summer months, mainly one of our preferences: dresses.
Here are two outfits that you can rock throughout the fall weather:
This is an easy fall look that will keep you shielded from the chillier weather. This Adelise Indigo Dress is a long sleeve and displays an ombre look of different shades of indigo. We love the detailed string work on the front, and this pick is a comfy, warm alternative to a strapless summer dress. We’ve paired it with a Pika & Bear necklace and Lucky Brand Bartalino boots. The dress is fun and flirty, but can still be worn with some autumn inspired shoes. Finally, to pull your outfit together throw on a C’est Moi floppy hat – we know you want to.
Dress: Splendid - Adelise Indigo Dress - $305.00 | Hat: C’est Moi - Floppy Hat - $48.00 | Boots: Lucky Brand - Bartalino - $165.00 | Necklace: Pika & Bear - $49.00
Pretty in Stripes
This next look is another long sleeved dress that can be used this season. This is a Rails Stephanie dress complete with white stripes and a tie just right on your neck. We love how the subtle details elevate the look, and how the tie substitutes for a neckpiece, such as a necklace, here. This dress is once again paired with some boots; the ones depicted are Seychelles by Caravan, and a dainty Daniel Wellington watch is added to one wrist here.
Dress: Rails - Stephanie - $237.00 | Boots: Seychelles - Caravan - $170.00 | Watch: Daniel Wellington - $265.00
Don’t be afraid to add some dresses to your wardrobe this fall. If it’s too cold for comfort outside, an easy and equally fashionable solution is to pair your dress with some black or beige tights and higher boots. You can still be stylish with a little bit of extra padding and warmth.
